It would be unusual for an Artist to destroy their processed rolls of film, but why does one fear such a thing when the process of physical destruction and painting chemicals amongst the emulsion of c-41 film presents something visually captivating as opposed to a ruined frame. Household Destruction is a colour negative body of work inspired by the traditions of the photographic darkroom whereby one decides to keep the surface of their film immaculately clean, in contrast the artist goes against this and applied a darkroom styled process by submerging them into solutions containing eroding properties such as bleach and household cleaner. These would go on to be discovered by the artist in a state of ruin with the surface of the emulsion permanently embedded by the degrading contact of film and unconventional chemistry.
